A selection of Manchester United supporters have raved about the performance of Aaron Wan-Bissaka following the 2-1 derby victory over Manchester City on the road.
The Red Devils recently bagged a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford but they were still deemed as the underdogs for the cross-town derby at the Etihad Stadium.
However, they produced a superb counter-attacking display in the first half which contributed to the goals scored by Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial and that was sufficient to hand them the victory despite a late consolation strike from Nicolas Otamendi.
Throughout the game, the Red Devils showed exceptional awareness in the defensive scheme of things and Wan-Bissaka was one of the leading performers as he kept Raheem Sterling at bay for most of the game.
Sterling did manage to dribble past Wan-Bissaka in the early stages of the derby but barring that, the right-back had the better of his compatriot as he made a countless number of challenges.
He was guilty of being poorly positioned for Otamendi’s header towards the end but that did not cost the team as they held on to register their first win over the Cityzens in 20 months.
Wan-Bissaka ended the game with the most tackles than any other United defender (5). He also managed seven clearances and made two interceptions during the 90 minutes.
Here are some of the fan reactions over his performance…
He has team spirit ,my favorite right back
