Manchester United are deemed to have made contact with Chelsea regarding a surprise move for midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer.
The Frenchman has recently returned to pre-season training with the Blues after an impressive loan season with Milan, where he made 42 appearances.
According to RMC Sport, the midfielder is currently attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain after enjoying a fruitful season under Gennaro Gattuso at the San Siro.
However, the publication claims that Les Parisiens face a main obstacle in the form of United, who are prepared to offer the midfielder with a second chance in the Premier League.
Bakayoko is due to discuss his future with new Blues boss Frank Lampard during the club’s pre-season tour and he could thereafter decide whether to pursue a fresh challenge.
The Blues are presently under a transfer ban for the next 12 months, but they could afford the same of Bakayoko, given they have plenty of options within their ranks for the midfield role.
United, meanwhile, are on the search for a defensive-minded midfielder to replace Matic and Bakayoko may prove an ideal fit, should he showcase the form from the previous campaign.
