Manchester United confident of completing deal for £70m-rated midfielder after landing Wan-Bissaka

Manchester United are reportedly confident of landing the signature of Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes during this summer’s transfer window.

The Portuguese has been heavily linked with the Red Devils this term and reports have previously claimed that the midfielder has already agreed provisional personal terms with the side.

According to Evening Standard, United are expected to make at least three more signings after the recent capture of defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.

The same report claims that they are confident of landing the services of Fernandes from Sporting, given the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have decided against making moves.

Sporting are understood to value the Portuguese at around £70m and that remains a sum United are unwilling to match at the moment, given the need to save funds for other recruits.

Nonetheless, there remains the optimism that the Primeira Liga will negotiate for their player and a £50m figure has been highlighted as the benchmark to finalise a potential agreement.

Fernandes, who won the Nations League with Portugal this month, was in stunning form last term where he bagged 32 goals and 18 assists for Sporting across all competitions.
