Manchester United have revealed their travelling squad for the Newcastle United clash and they are a number of key absentees including Paul Pogba, who is nursing an ankle problem.
In a press conference on Friday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was far from optimistic when asked about potential comebacks and that has now become the case with a weakened squad making the Tyneside trip.
While Pogba and Jesse Lingard miss the game with ankle and hamstring concerns, Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial have not been deemed fit enough after recently returning to training.
Elsewhere, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will remain a major miss on the right side of the defence as he has yet to recover from the bout of tonsillitis which has kept him out of the previous two games across all competitions.
United are currently languishing in the bottom half of the standings in 11th with nine points and they can potentially move up to fifth on the table with a solid win, should the other results go their way.
That is far earlier than said than done, considering they have been woeful on the road with 10 winless games on the bounce. They will no doubt face a testing challenge against the Magpies on Sunday.
