Ozil and Martinelli start, Strongest Predicted Arsenal lineup (4-2-3-1) to face Standard Liege

Arsenal are scheduled to host Standard Liege in tonight’s Europa League meeting. The Gunners have already registered a win in the competition after the 3-0 triumph over Eintracht Frankfurt last month and they will be aiming to build up an advantage at the top of their group when Liege visit the Emirates Stadium.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Lineup:

Gunners boss Unai Emery has go with a similar defensive formation from the League Cup game against Nottingham Forest last week. Emiliano Martinez should feature in goal as he remains the first-choice for the Cup competitions this term.

Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding should make up the central defence with Kieran Tierney on the left side of the defence. At right-back, Hector Bellerin may earn his first start of the season after his 15-minute cameo against Forest, where he grabbed an assist.

In the centre of the park, Dani Ceballos seems a genuine starter after his lively cameo against Manchester United on Monday night. He could be accompanied by Lucas Torreira. The Uruguayan featured in an unfamiliar attacking midfield role at Old Trafford but he should play deeper this time around.

Further forward, Joe Willock may slot into the number 10 role with Mesut Ozil and Reiss Nelson occupying the wide attacking positions. Ozil is likely to be handed with the captain’s armband and the German has plenty to prove after being left out of the Red Devils clash.

Upfront, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will certainly get a breather after his recent excursions in the league. Gabriel Martinelli is the best bet to lead the line following an impressive brace against Forest in what was his maiden start for the club.
