Michael Owen states his prediction for Chelsea FC vs Manchester United

Michael Owen has stated his prediction for the forthcoming League Cup fourth round clash between Chelsea FC and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard’s side have improved on their performances on a game-by-game basis this term and they are currently on a high with seven victories on the bounce in all competitions.

On the other hand, the Red Devils have recently bagged successive wins in all competitions but their scoring form remains a concern, having managed to score more than once in just one game since the season opener.

Writing on the BetVictor blog, Owen acknowledged that United have turned the corner under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of late but he believes Chelsea FC are much better placed with the current run of form.

The former United and Liverpool star added that the west London giants should progress to the League Cup quarter-finals and thereby avenge their 4-0 defeat to the Red Devils in the league opener in August.

Chelsea FC are undoubtedly better placed with the form of their attackers but they do have a point of weakness at the back with just three clean sheets from 15 games this season.

Still, they should be fancied to get the better of United this time around after being unfortunate during the opening stages of the curtain-raiser, where they failed to make the most of their chances on goal.
