‘Masterclass vs United’, these Chelsea FC fans want 19-year-old to start vs Manchester United

A section of the Chelsea FC supporters have urged manager Frank Lampard to choose Reece James in the starting XI when the Blues face Manchester United in the League Cup fourth round.

The England youth international made his debut against Grimsby Town in the same competition last month and he happened to excel with one goal and an assist.

James has since made one more start alongside three substitute outings and the fans are now looking forward to the teenager starting against United on Wednesday night.

Here are some of the reactions on Twitter…

Lampard is bound to make changes from the recent matchday squads and the likes of Michy Batshuayi, Olivier Giroud, Emerson and James could be in contention to make the starting XI.

Lampard has generally stuck with Cesar Azpilicueta as the preferred right-back choice this term and it will be interesting to see whether the club-captain is rested.

Otherwise, both James and Azpilicueta have previously featured together with the latter dropping into a three-man backline or slotting into the left side of the defence.
