Manchester United have reportedly offered David de Gea with a final take-or-leave contract offer amid the uncertainty regarding his future at the club.
The Spain international has been in a contract standoff with United over the past year and it has now reached a point where he has to make a big decision over his commitment towards the team.
According to Metro, the Red Devils have offered De Gea with a £300,000-a-week package to extend his contract beyond next season and they are reluctant to consider an increase on their proposal.
However, the offers still remains below De Gea’s £450,000-a-week demands to put him on par with top earner Alexis Sanchez and it is suggested that the standoff could pave way for the Spaniard’s departure in the summer.
De Gea has been hugely instrumental towards the club’s progress in recent years and he has on multiple occasions kept them in the game almost single handedly.
But with the uncertainty over his future, he has recently been prone to making a few blunders ,and it remains to be seen whether he has a change in stance with regards to United’s contract package on the table.
