Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang explains why he does not want to face Chelsea in Europa League final

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said that he would prefer avoiding Chelsea during the final of this season’s Europa League campaign.

The Gunners are holding a 3-1 advantage after the first leg of their semi-final tie against Valencia and they are on the front seat to cement their spot in the final ahead of the return fixture.

Amidst this, Aubameyang has been asked about the prospect of facing Chelsea in the final in Baku but the Gabonese has indicated that he would prefer to face Eintracht Frankfurt instead.

“No, I don’t want them. We know they are a great team but hopefully first we will go to the final and then I prefer to play Frankfurt, because we have already played against Chelsea. I know Frankfurt are really good and if we both go through to the final it will be a hard one,” he said.

Arsenal have had the better of the Blues in recent meetings especially in the Cup competitions, but their backline has not presented much confidence when they are up against it.

The Blues have likewise possessed a vulnerable defence every now and then, but both sides would still prefer not to face each other, given they would be very familiar with the personnel on either team.
