Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has reportedly urged the club’s hierarchy to open talks with Eintracht Frankfurt regarding the potential signing of Luka Jovic.
The Serbian signed for the Bundesliga side on a permanent basis for around £7.5m from Benfica earlier this month but it appears that he could be headed for an instant departure during the summer.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, Sarri has been impressed with the progress of the marksman over the course of the season and he has urged the board to initiate talks regarding a possible summer move.
However, the young marksman won’t come on the cheap with Frankfurt set to demand a fee of around £55m which is more than seven times the purchase price from Benfica.
Jovic has enjoyed a storming season at Frankfurt and he has contributed 26 goals and six assists across all competitions. Out of those, one came through a fine glancing header during the European meeting against Chelsea last night.
As such, he has done no harm to his reputation with Sarri watching his prowess in close quarters but any deal for the Blues could be entirely dependent on whether they can overcome or freeze their two-match transfer ban for the summer.
