Good News for Chelsea as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms double injury blow for Manchester United

Chelsea have received a potential boost ahead of the FA Cup fifth round tie against Manchester United on Monday evening. The Red Devils recently saw the end of their two-month unbeaten run under Ole against Paris Saint-Germain and during that game, both Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard were forced off the pitch on either side of half time with injuries.

Speaking ahead of the FA Cup encounter against Chelsea, Ole confirmed that the above-mentioned duo will be out of action for around 2 to 3 weeks which rules them out of the cup meeting as well as the Premier League clash against Liverpool in eight days’ time.

Lingard had picked up a hamstring injury during the first period against Paris St Germain and this saw him substituted right before the half-time interval. Martial, on the other hand, failed the report following the break amid concerns over a groin problem picked up in the same half.

In their absence, Romelu Lukaku and Juan Mata are widely expected to take the playing field but the duo do not possess the same pace attributes as those sidelined and it wil be interesting to see how the pairing fare against the west London club on the road.
