Manchester United have eventually managed to agree a new long-term deal with French attacker Anthony Martial. The 23-year-old had been in a contract standoff with the Red Devils earlier in the season amid his struggles to secure a regular role under ex-boss Jose Mourinho.
However, his fortunes have somewhat changed with the appointment of interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he has now penned a contract until the summer of 2024 with the option of a further 12 months, should the club wish to do so.
Martial missed the recent Premier League match against Burnley with a slight injury sustaining in injury but he is likely to return to the mix ahead of the top-flight clash against Leicester City during the upcoming weekend.
United squandered their chance to pick up the maximum points against Burnley in midweek but they nonetheless salvage a draw after a tremendous comeback following the 87th minute.
With the stalemate, they have still managed to close the top-four gap to two points after Chelsea, who were previously occupying the position, suffered a damaging 4-0 defeat at Bournemouth.
