Christian Pulisic has expressed his delight after contributing towards Chelsea FC’s 1-0 Premier League win over Newcastle United over the weekend.
The United States international has not enjoyed the best of starts to his career at the west London side but he has repeatedly stated that he is focused on proving himself.
Against Newcastle, Pulisic played for the final 30 minutes of the game and he was one of the bright sparks with his directness, positioning and ability to make passes at the last moment.
Speaking to ESPN, Pulisic said that he is pleased to make an impact for the Blues, who secured a slender 1-0 triumph over the Magpies to propel into the top four.
He told: “It was a really good game, happy for the team, had a strong performance, they defended really well, and I was happy to make an impact.”
Meanwhile, the former Borussia Dortmund has yet to score for the Blues in any competitions and he is confident that he will find his scoring touch sooner rather than later, he added: “I just don’t have that scoring touch but I know it will come back.”
Chelsea FC will shift their focus to the Champions League on Wednesday night where they are scheduled to face last season’s semi-finalists Ajax on the road..
