Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp has praised three of Chelsea FC’s emerging stars and believes they could be worth £60m each at the present stage of time.
The Blues started off the season with a forgettable 4-0 defeat at Manchester United but they have since redeemed themselves with eight points from the next four league games.
In this period, both Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham have been hugely influential with 10 of the 11 league goals scored by them, and that has certainly caught the eye of the faithful.
Ahead of the Premier League meeting between Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC, Klopp has heaped praise on the progression of young players at the Blues under manager Frank Lampard.
He told: “It’s a really exciting team. It reminds me a bit of my team at Dortmund years back, when they were really young – even younger than this team now at Chelsea.”
He added that Mount, Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has just returned from an Achilles injury, are already worth £60m each in the transfer market.
“They brought in Christian Pulisic in the summer for 50-or-60million and all the players around him have the same value. Tammy Abraham is now a 60million player, Mason Mount for sure 60million – if not more, [Callum] Hudson-Odoi was [worth] that already,” he continued.
Mount committed his long-term future to the Blues with a new contract during pre-season and Hudson-Odoi has recently followed suit by penning a fresh five-year deal with the Europa League holders.
The club are now into discussions over a new deal with Abraham and it remains to be seen whether the England international accepts the proposal which will double his current £50,000-a-week wages.
Only Abraham is expected to feature during the weekend league clash. Mount is a major doubt with an ankle problem while Hudson-Odoi will likewise miss the game after playing for the Under 23s to build up his fitness last night.
