Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku has no plans of returning to Stamford Bridge this summer despite Chelsea proposing a lucrative contract for him, Gazzetta dello Sport claims.

The Belgian had a superb 2020/21 season for the San Siro giants. He bagged 34 goals in all competitions. 29 of them came in the Serie A as Inter won the title after 11 years.

He has recently emerged as one of the top striker targets for the Blues. However, it appears that they may have to look elsewhere as the 28-year-old is happy at Inter.

Before making a bid for Lukaku, the Blues attempted to negotiate personal terms through his agent. Lukaku has rejected the €10m annual package with ‘a polite No‘.

Chelsea are not close to signing a new striker, but there is still speculation that Tammy Abraham could leave the club with interest from West Ham United and Arsenal.

Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland is the other target on their radar. He won’t come on the cheap. Dortmund won’t entertain an offer less than €175m for him.

The Blues have made statements in the transfer market in the past, and it remains to be seen whether they will break the bank to bring Haaland to the club.

They are also looking to bolster other areas. A new centre-back seems a priority. Jules Kounde has agreed terms, but the transfer fee remains a stumbling block.
