Michael Owen predicts his winner for Chelsea vs West Ham United

Former Premier League star Michael Owen has stated his prediction for Monday’s top-flight clash between Chelsea and West Ham United at the London stadium.

The Blues have lost their way over the past few games with back-to-back defeats and that sees them nine points behind leaders Liverpool with the game in hand.

On the contrary, the Hammers are just one point behind them in the standings and their form has been way better with four points accumulated in the previous two matches.

Ahead of the London derby, Owen believes the Blues should return to winning ways, having been unbeaten in 11 of the previous 12 matches in their stadium.

The Hammers did the double over them in the Premier League last term, but Owen has backed Frank Lampard’s side to close the gap on the Champions League spots.

“The Blues are undefeated in 11 of their last 12 home matches. Interestingly, there have been over 2.5 goals in 5 of West Ham’s last 6 league matches. I can see goals on the menu again, and although Chelsea are wounded, I think they’ll get the result they need,” He told.

Chelsea could be without Hakim Ziyech, who was absent in the recent full training session. Reece James is another major doubt with a knee injury which may require an operation to resolve.
