Frank Lampard confirms two starters for Chelsea vs Krasnodar

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed two players, who are set to make the starting line-up for the final Champions League group stage against Krasnodar.

The Blues have already qualified for the round of 16 stage of the elite competition after the thumping 4-0 win in Seville.

They are currently three points ahead of the La Liga outfit and will finish top of the table with the head-to-head advantage.

Hence, Lampard can afford to make multiple changes to his squad and rest key players, who have played regularly over the past few months.

Edouard Mendy has been a regular between the sticks for the Blues, but he is set to be rested with Kepa Arrizabalaga getting a rare opportunity in goal.

Elsewhere, Billy Gilmour should make his first appearance of the campaign in midfield after making his long recovery from a knee ligament injury.

“Kepa starts. With goalkeepers they have to be patient. Edou has been a regular pick with his form,” Lampard said.

“This game is a game for Kepa who is training brilliantly well, acting brilliantly well. Billy will start tomorrow.”

The Blues have not lost in any competition since the Carabao Cup round of 16 exit to Tottenham Hotspur in September via the penalty spot.

Tammy Abraham will be one of the players, who will be keen to grab the opportunity tonight after recently losing his place to Olivier Giroud.
