Frank Lampard confirms double injury blow for Chelsea ahead of Krasnodar clash

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed a double injury blow for the Blues ahead of their final Champions League group stage clash against Krasnodar at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have already progressed to the next round of the competition with the top position after their stunning 4-0 win at Sevilla and the game is a dead rubber for them.

Hence, Lampard has the chance to make wholesale changes for the encounter, but he won’t have the services of Hakim Ziyech, who sustained a a hamstring injury against Leeds United last weekend.

Elsewhere, Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has largely played in the Cup competitions, has suffered a hamstring injury of his own in first-team training ahead of the Krasnodar clash.

Speaking prior to tonight’s group stage game, Lampard said: “Hakim’s going for a scan this afternoon, so we’ll have more information tomorrow. He’s out and Callum Hudson-Odoi’s out too, with a hamstring problem picked up in training yesterday as well.”

The west London giants cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win over the Russian outfit during the reverse meeting and they will be overwhelming favourites to beat them once again.

The Blues have vastly improved their defensive record across all competitions this term and they have kept four clean sheets from their five group stage matches.
