Chelsea agree terms with 17-goal attacker, enter talks over £70m transfer

Chelsea have reportedly agreed personal terms with Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz and they are now in the process of finalising a transfer fee with the German outfit.

The Blues have already strengthened their attacking department for next season with the purchase of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech from RB Leipzig and Ajax respectively.

However, they have been determined to further bolster the attack with the recruitment of Havertz and they are currently in advanced negotiations with Leverkusen for his services.

According to Sky Sports, Leverkusen want around £90m for their graduate, but the Blues are aiming to land the German’s signature for £70m with the remaining sum to be settled in the form of add-ons.

Havertz has already given the go-ahead for the transfer after holding a private chat with manager Frank Lampard and the move appears likely to be concluded by the end of the month.

Petr Cech, who is now the technical adviser for Chelsea, is expected to make the trip to Germany after the conclusion of the Premier League season on Sunday in order to sort out the deal.

Havertz has been in fine form for Leverkusen over the course of the campaign and he has registered 17 goals and nine assists across all competitions.
