Frank Lampard sends stern warning to Chelsea FC midfielder

Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard has said that Ross Barkley has shown a lack of professionalism after being spotted dancing shirtless in a nightclub during the international break.

The England international was involved in an incident with a car driver earlier in the season and he has once more made the headlines for the wrong reasons.

In an interview covered by Sky Sports, Lampard said that he will continue to back Barkley but the midfielder has certainly been unprofessional with the recent incidents outside of the club.

He added that the midfielder needs to work his way back after the recent ankle injury and he would prefer the former Evertonian showing his reaction on the playing field.

“I backed him then and I still back him now. But he showed a lack of professionalism as far as I’m concerned. Ross has had an injury, he’s still kind of carrying an injury, so he just has to work his way back in and train well. I certainly don’t hold anything against my players. I like Ross and he needs now to show all his reactions on the pitch,” he said.

Barkley did not make the trip to Valencia for the Champions League clash as he was lacking fitness after a month lay-off with an ankle concern. He should, however, return in the coming weeks with the Blues in need of rotation during the congested festive schedule.
