Manchester United will make the trip to Oslo for Tuesday’s pre-season friendly against Norwegian side Kristiansund. United have enjoyed a perfect run in pre-season and they have so far won each of their four games with three clean sheets in the process.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has tended to offer not more than 45 minutes of action to the players in this period, but that could change against his home-town club, considering the team have just one more friendly against AC Milan before the real season kicks off.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Lineup:
David de Gea is supposedly close to penning a fresh six-year deal and that should motivate him to perform better next term. The Spain international will start in goal against Kristiansund.
In the defence, Solskjaer should go with the strongest combination at the present point of time. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw can be expected to feature on the right and left side of the backline.
On the other hand, Victor Lindelof should take up one of the central defensive roles and we believe Axel Tuanzebe deserves to partner the Swede once more on the back of impressive pre-season performances of late.
In the midfield, the combination of Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba seems the perfect fit at the moment. While McTominay will act as the shield in the centre of the park, Pogba should have some freedom to press forward in attack-minded situations.
In the attack front, Solskjaer may prefer adding more experience to the ranks and that may bring see both Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard featuring from the off in places of Mason Greenwood and Andreas Pereira.
Daniel James should feature from the right wing on the back of a tenacious performance against Spurs earlier in the week. Aside from this, Rashford and Lingard should take up the left wing and number 10 roles respectively with Anthony Martial leading the line.
Predicted Lineup: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Tuanzebe, Lindelof, Shaw, McTominay, Pogba, James, Lingard, Rashford, Martial
