Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has urged the club’s hierarchy to pursue the signature of Harry Maguire from Leicester City at the earliest possibility.
The England international has been earmarked as the top target for the club this summer after a difficult 2018/19 campaign where the club leaked 54 goals in the league alone.
According to Sky Sports News, the Red Devils boss has made it clear that he wants the 26-year-old at Old Trafford this summer and he has urged Woodward to sort the deal as soon as possible.
United are currently £10m short of the Foxes’ £80m asking price for the centre-back and so far, there has been no improved offer made by the Red Devils.
Still, the club may have no choice than to meet the demands of the east Midlands outfit, considering the Foxes are clear that they won’t come down from their valuation for the defender.
Maguire has four years remaining on his current deal with the Foxes and the club have no urgency to part ways with the centre-back unless United or any other club are prepared to meet the defender’s price tag.
