Manchester United are understood to have agreed personal terms with midfielder Sergej Milikovic-Savic, who has been given the green light to leave Lazio this summer.
The 24-year-old was frequently linked with the Red Devils last summer and it appears that the club have followed up the interest for the ongoing transfer window.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Red Devils are said to have found the breakthrough in terms of the transfer for the midfielder after agreeing on an initial €75m fee with another €5m in add-ons.
The same publication suggests that the midfielder has already agreed terms over a five-year contract with the club and the deal could be made formal in the coming days.
United have been hunt for Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes for most of the summer and a deal for Milinkovic-Savic could seize their pursuit of the Portuguese midfielder.
Meanwhile, there are reports indicating that United could land both Milikovic-Savic and Fernandes during the transfer window, but that may coincide with the departure of Paul Pogba to Real Madrid.
Pogba’s future with United has been uncertain for the past few weeks and there are suggestions that Los Blancos could meet the €170m price tag for the midfielder before the transfer deadline approaches.
