French side Lille have reportedly quoted a £31m asking price for goalkeeper Mike Maignan amid the transfer interest from Premier League giants Manchester United.
The Red Devils have banked on the services of David de Gea as their number one in the past eight seasons, but they are said to be pondering over his sale this summer amid his contract standoff.
De Gea has just 12 months remaining on his existing deal with the Red Devils and reports indicate that they could be forced to sell in the coming months rather than losing him on a free next summer.
According to The Record, the Red Devils are said to hold an interest in pursuing a new shot-stopper and Lille’s Maignan has been earmarked as a probable candidate to reinforce the department.
Furthermore, it is revealed that Lille would be willing to sanction the Frenchman’s sale this summer, provided United or any other team match their £31m price tag for the shot-stopper.
Maignan recently experienced a fantastic season with Lille where he kept 15 clean sheets while conceding a league low of 33 goals over the course of 38 matches.
His performances helped Lille secure a Champions League berth through a runner-up finish while he has been rewarded on a personal scale with a maiden call-up to the France national team.
