Manchester United move to agree deal for £60m-rated playmaker

Manchester United are reportedly said to hold an interest in signing Leicester City’s James Maddison as they seek to strengthen their attack front ahead of next season.

Maddison enjoyed an impressive first campaign in the Premier League last term where he managed to contribute seven goals and seven assists across all competitions.

As a result, he has been attracting high-profile interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, and Metro claims that United have joined the hunt.

The same publication cites that the playmaker could be available for around £60m this summer, although he could have reservations over making the switch to Old Trafford.

United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League is said to have put them in a disadvantageous position when compared to other suitors while Maddison is doubtful where he can secure regular gametime with the side.

United are said to be planning a mega spending spree for the summer after finishing in a disappointing sixth spot during the recently concluded Premier League campaign.

So far, their focus has lied on pursuing young British talents and Swansea City’s Daniel James has been one of those, who has been heavily touted to join the club this month.
