Manchester United are reportedly prepared to propose a package of more than £100m for Joao Felix, though Benfica may not necessarily approved the club’s payment terms.
The 19-year-old has been a huge hit since breaking through the Benfica ranks and he has been dubbed as the next Cristiano Ronaldo after bagging 15 goals and seven assists en route to the team’s league success.
According to Correio da Manha, the Red Devils are prepared to pay an initial £80m for the Benfica starlet with an additional £25m to be settled in the form of add-ons.
However, Benfica are widely expected to decline the offer, considering they are only willing to accept a one-time payment to trigger the player’s £105m release clause.
Aside from United, Manchester City and Real Madrid have been linked with the teenager and reports indicate that the latter have already failed with a similar approach for the attacker’s services.
United recently experienced a disappointing season which they managed only a sixth-place finish and they are expected to go on a spending spree this summer to revive their prospects of competing for the title next term.
