Manchester United are reportedly tempted by the prospect of signing Gianluigi Donnarumma from AC Milan after knowing of the player’s valuation for the summer.
The Italy international has been the undisputed number one for the Rossoneri over the past few years but his future has come under question after the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.
According to Corriere della Serra via TeamTALK, the Rossoneri are likely to consider the sale of their graduate this summer, should they receive an offer between £48m and £53m.
The same publication claims that the Red Devils have been tempted by the player’s availability and they have made contact with his agent Mino Raiola to seek to push through a summer agreement.
United are currently unsure regarding the future of goalkeeper David de Gea with his contract expiring in 12 months’ time and reports indicate that they could part ways with the Spaniard this summer.
In such a case, the club are bound to spend big on another top-class shot-stopper and it appears that Donnarumma has been earmarked as the prime candidate to replace the Spain international.
Donnarumma may have just crossed the age of 20, but he has plenty of experience in his bag after making more than 150 appearances for the Rossoneri across all competitions.
