Five-year contract agreed, Manchester United move to finalise deal for £60m-rated star

Manchester United are deemed to have already agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, although they have yet to sort out a transfer fee with the south London club.

The Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be keen on pursuing a top-class right-back this summer and Wan-Bissaka is understood to have been earmarked as the prime option.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport’s Nicolo Schira, the Red Devils are deemed to have finalised personal terms over a five-year deal with the defender and there remains the task of settling a transfer sum with the Eagles.

The Red Devils have recently failed with an opening bid worth £40m for the Eagles graduate and reports indicate that Roy Hodgson’s side are looking for at least £60m to consider the defender’s sale this summer.

So far, United have yet to make a fresh attempt to pursue the England youth international but the fans can anticipate some activity in the forthcoming days with Ole keen on sorting out most of the transfer business this month.

Wan-Bissaka has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the past few months but neither of those clubs seem willing to come close to the Eagles’ £60m price tag for the right-back.

United currently possess the likes of Matteo Darmian, Diogo Dalot and Ashley Young for the right-back role but the former appears set to secure an exit this summer.

Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are the other possible options available, but Ole seems keen on pursuing a new recruit, who can be drafted straight into the starting lineup.
