Cesc Fabregas names ‘perfect’ replacement for Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea FC

Former Chelsea FC midfielder Cesc Fabregas has said that Frank Lampard would be an ideal choice to become the next Blues boss, should Maurizio Sarri part ways with the club this summer.

Sarri’s agent has been in regular contact with Juventus regarding the managerial vacancy and reports have claimed that the Blues won’t stop him from making the return to the Serie A.

In between this, a number of head coaches have been linked with the Blues and one of those has been Lampard, who has recently experienced an impressive first season in club management.

Speaking to SPORT, Fabregas praised the Blues legend for the progress made with the Rams, who just missed out on Premier League promotion after a playoff final defeat.

The Blues favourite added to speak about the attacking style of play exhibited by the Rams and believes he would prove the perfect foil for the west London giants, should Sarri head through the exit door.

He said: “I think he has done a really impressive job, it’s his first ever job. He changed many things. He played a really aggressive style, attacking football. Really for a first-ever job, I think he has done really good. He would be perfect for Chelsea.”

At the present moment, the Blues board are said to have doubts concerning the potential appointment of Lampard this summer, considering he has no experience when it comes to coaching in a top-flight European division.

Max Allegri and Diego Simeone are some of the other candidates mentioned for the head coach role, which is likely to be vacated by Sarri in the forthcoming days.
