Manchester United are said to have a keen eye on pursuing the signature of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich during this summer’s transfer window.
The Red Devils recently endured a poor end to the league campaign where they finished sixth and this has meant that they would be plying their trade in the Europa League.
Despite this, the club’s board are keen on rebuilding the squad this summer and TMW claims that they could make a shock approach to pursue Lewandowski from the clutches of Bayern.
The same report suggests that United are bracing for the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan and the deal may involve Ivan Perisic heading in the opposite direction.
Lewandowski has been with Bayern for the past five seasons and he has notched 191 goals during the period, while winning the league title in each of those campaigns.
Irrespective of this, he has been regularly touted to part ways with the Bavarian giants and it remains to be seen whether it happens this summer with his contract expiring in around two years’ time.
