Cesc Fabregas has given his opinion on Eden Hazard’s contract situation

Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes Eden Hazard will remain loyal to the west London club and eventually put pen-to-paper on a new long-term contract.

The Belgium international has under 18 months remaining on his existing deal with the Blues and this has increased speculation regarding his future ahead of the summer.

However, according to Fabregas, speaking to Cadena SER, the attacker may not necessarily push for a summer departure, given the success he has been offered at the Blues.

He added that the 28-year-old would never force through an exit from the Bridge and his importance to the club could be another reason tempting him to stay put.

“I think he’s going to extend his contract with Chelsea. He’s a loyal player. He told me he would never fight with Chelsea to leave. This is his club, he has won so much in England,” he said.

Hazard has been in sublime form for the Blues this campaign and he has netted 12 goals and contributed a further 10 assists in the Premier League alone so far.

  1. He’s a fantastic player so please can we focus more on his playing. The instant link with Higuain should be our main talking point not the next big club making a big bid.
