Chelsea have reportedly made an offer of around £1m to prise away teenage forward Antoine Semenyo from Championship outfit Bristol City.
The 19-year-old is currently excelling with League Two side Newport County for whom he has contributed six goals from 32 appearances this term.
According to The Mail, the Blues have been impressed by the progress of the youngster, who recently featured in Newport’s 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough which enforced a replay in the FA Cup fourth round.
It is added that the west London giants have made an initial bid of
£1m for the uprising star, though Bristol are said to want at least double the amount to sanction his sale.
Should a deal go through, Semenyo will most certainly be integrated into the Under-23 setup before making the possible step into the first-team squad in the forthcoming seasons.
Chelsea return to FA Cup action on Sunday evening where they are scheduled to face Sheffield Wednesday in the fourth round of the famous old competition.
