Not Perisic, Arsenal launch move to sign £50m-rated Brazilian winger from Spanish giants

Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly enquired over the possibility of signing Malcom from Barcelona after failing with their approach for Denis Suarez earlier in the month.

Suarez has been heavily linked with the Gunners over the past few weeks but the club have not been able to pursue a loan move for the Spaniard amid their reluctance to attach a £20m buy option for the summer.

Amidst this, The Sun claims that the north London side are now after a winger from the Blaugrana ranks with former target Malcom on their transfer radar.

The Brazilian has endured a frustrating stint with the Catalan giants where he has managed just over 100 minutes of league action and his chances of featuring regularly remain slim for the campaign.

As such, the Spanish champions are more than open to sanctioning his temporary move this month and it is indicated that the Gunners could be favourites to land him amid their willingness to include a buy clause.

Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see whether there is any truth to the speculation, given The Sun have claimed that the Gunners are willing to pay as much £50m to land him on a permanent deal in the summer.

Arsenal recently exited the FA Cup at the fourth round after a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United but they have an opportunity to return to winning ways against Cardiff City in the midweek league fixture.
