Chelsea ready to complete first winter signing with Maurizio Sarri favourite on their radar

Chelsea are reportedly making progress towards their first signing of the winter signing window with manager Maurizio Sarri keen on reinforcing the club’s attacking department.

According to SportMediaset, the Blues are making efforts to sign Gonzalo Higuain at the turn of the year despite the striker turning down their advances last summer.

Higuain only joined AC Milan from Juventus on a two-year loan earlier in the year but he has seemingly struggled for form with just five goals through the first half of the season.

As such, the Argentine appears keen on a fresh challenge which seems to have caught the eye of Blues boss Sarri, who had previously worked with the striker for one season at Napoli.

As per the publication, Higuain would be allowed to make the loan move to the Bridge for the season but the deal would also involve Morata moving the other way on an 18-month loan contract.

In between this, Higuain’s parent club Juventus have not been mentioned and it will be interesting to see how the transfer saga paves once the transfer window reopens next week.
