A section of the Manchester United supporters have urged the club to secure the signing of Ruben Dias following his man of the match performance against the Netherlands in the Nations League final.
Portugal secured a comfortable 1-0 triumph over the Dutch in the inaugural final of the competition after Goncalo Guedes netted the sole goal of the game in the 60th minute.
However, it was the team’s backline which earned most of the plaudits with Dias being pivotal to restricting the Dutch to just one shot on target through the game.
As such, United fans took a good notice of his performance and some have urged the Red Devils to lodge a formal approach to acquire his signature this summer.
Here are some of the tweets….
Dias currently has a £52m release clause on his contract and that puts him in the affordable range for United when compared to the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and Matthijs de Ligt, who could cost in upwards of £80m.
At the age of 22, the Portuguese has already caught the eye of a number of elite clubs across Europe and it remains to be seen whether United make an approach after tracking his progress in recent months.
United have made a offer to Palace, for Wan-Bissaka, which we now know has been rejected. I am sure 50m and he will be a United player. Why does Ed Woodward, mess about. Look when City wanted Kyle Walker, Tottenham wanted 50m, city paid it, and that was that.
Like LVG said, Ed Woodward has no footballing sense. As long as he is at United, we are finished as a team.
