Arsenal are reportedly ‘one step away’ from securing the signature of Yannick Ferreira Carrasco from Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.
The north London giants are expected to reinforce the squad this summer after the failure to make the Champions League for the third year running and a new winger is expected to be one of the priorities.
Owing to this, the club have been linked with the likes of Ryan Fraser and Alexis Claude-Maurice but SPORT claims that Carrasco could be the one to make the switch to the Emirates.
Unai Emery’s side were initially keen on recruiting Carrasco last winter but a deal failed to materialise with Dalian expressing no interest in listening to potential transfer offers.
Since then, the 2016 Champions League finalist has regularly talked about the prospect of returning to Europe and it is now claimed that the Gunners are on the cusp of recruiting him.
Arsenal currently possessing Alex Iwobi as the sole natural winger in the club’s ranks but the graduate has lacked the consistency when it comes to finding the scoresheet.
This is where Carrasco has excelled from his time with former club Atletico and his pace and dribbling attributes could make him the perfect foil to partner Aubameyang and Lacazette in the frontline.
Carrasco has been in fine run of form for Dalian this campaign and he has amassed an impressive tally of seven goals and two assists from just 10 appearances this season.
