Done deal: Chelsea FC confirm transfer agreement for 28-year-old playmaker

Chelsea have confirmed that they have sanctioned the sale of playmaker Eden Hazard to Real Madrid. The Belgian has been heavily linked with Los Blancos in the past six months and it has now been made official that he has signed for the Spanish giants for an initial fee of around £88m.

Hazard has been a mainstay for the Blues in the past seven seasons and during this period, he has contributed directly to more than 190 goals across all competitions for the club.

Owing to this, he has earned a legendary reputation among a large section of the Blues supporters, but he has still taken up a fresh challenge with Los Blancos ahead of the 2019/2020 campaign.

Hazard’s ambition of playing for the Bernabeu giants has been publicly known for the past few years and his reluctance to sign a new Blues deal gave a clear indication regarding his future stance.

As per multiple sources, the west London side have agreed on an initial £88m package for the sale of the Belgium international, who previously had 12 months remaining on his contract with the club.

The agreement, however, is said to included several performance-based add-ons and that could drive the price up to £130m, provided the conditions are fulfilled.
