‘Give him a lifetime contract’, ‘Statue’ – Liverpool fans react to 24-year-old’s heroics against Barcelona

A section of the Liverpool supporters have demanded the club to hand Divock Origi with a new contract following his stunning brace in the 4-0 semi-final triumph over Barcelona in the Champions League.

The Reds appeared down and out after conceding three goals without scoring during the opening leg at the Camp Nou but they made a stunning comeback at Anfield with Origi one of the key contributors.

The Belgian gave the Reds the lead with a seventh-minute goal and he managed to complete the turnaround with the clincher after getting on the right end of Alexander-Arnold’s quickly taken corner.

Following the game, a number of supporters have urged the club to sort out the Belgian’s future with his existing deal due to expire at the end of the 2019/2020 campaign.
