Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has praised the qualities of Eden Hazard in the lead up to the Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday evening.
The Belgium international has been reluctant to extend his Blues stay beyond the end of the 2019/2020 season but this has not affected his form with 12 goals and 10 assists already in the top-flight this term.
Speaking ahead of the Manchester City game, Sarri gave a special mention for Hazard by starting that he is probably the best in Europe on present form.
In the same press conference, Sarri said that he would be ‘very happy’ for the Belgian to extend his Blues deal, although the final decision is left to the attack to make.
“I will be really very happy with him if he wants to stay. In my opinion he is the best in Europe, so I would be really very happy, but it’s up to him. I want to see him happy. He has to decide,” he told the club’s official website.
Chelsea are currently fourth in the standings with 50 points on the board but they require at least a point against the Citizens to preserve their spot for another gameweek.
The west London secured a 2-0 triumph over the reigning champions at the Bridge last time around but a similar repeat appears difficult, given their backline has not been entirely secure of late.
