Chelsea agree second winter signing from European giants, player could face Arsenal

Chelsea have reportedly agreed on a temporary deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus this month, though the formalities are slowing down the player’s anticipated move to the Bridge.

Higuain has been earmarked as the club’s prime target since the beginning of January and a recent report from Sky Sports News has confirmed that a loan move has been sorted to pursue the marksman.

However, it appears that Maurizio Sarri want the move to be fast-tracked with the striker being potentially eligible for the weekend Premier League game against Arsenal, Evening Standard reports.

For that, the Blues need to register the Argentine in their Premier League squad before the 12pm deadline on Friday but so far, there has been little indication to suggest that may occur.

Higuain is expected to join the Blues on a six-month loan from Juventus once his temporary deal with AC Milan is terminated. The west London side are said to have the option of extending the loan for a further 12 months with the choice to secure a permanent deal.
