Belgian football expert Kristof Terreur has highlighted that Eden Hazard could make the switch to Real Madrid from Chelsea when the season comes to a close.
The attacker has constantly flirted with the idea of joining his dream club over the past six months and this has created uncertainty over his Blues future with his contract expiring in just over a year’s time.
In an interview covered by Sky Sports News, Terreur said that the Belgian captain is waiting on a potential transfer to the European champions and that may be the prime reason behind him turning down a Blues’ extension.
He added that the Blues had dismissed a tentative approach from Los Blancos for the attacker during the summer, although they may change their stance when the current season comes to a close.
Nonetheless, the transfer of Hazard won’t come on the cheap for Los Blancos with reports indicating that the Blues are prepared to demand more than £100m despite him approaching the final year of his deal.
Winter signing Christian Pulisic has been touted by many as a direct replacement for Hazard next term and it will be interesting to see whether the United States international can quickly adapt to the pace of the Premier League.
