A certain section of Chelsea FC fans have urged the club to open their chequebook to sign Kalidou Koulibaly when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
The west London giants were in excellent form prior to the last international break and it seemed that they could easily cement their spot in the top four for the season.
However, things have changed over the past two weeks and they have accumulated just three points from the last four games in the English top-flight.
As a result, their nine-point advantage for the final Champions League spot has reduced to just five points, and that could further drop to three, should Wolverhampton Wanderers win their game in hand on Sunday.
Owing to this, there is genuine frustration from a few of the supporters and some of them believe that the club should make the effort to sign a world class centre-back in January.
Nathan Ake from Bournemouth is deemed to be an option for the Blues to re-sign next month but few Blues fans believe the club should go for the services of Koulibaly, who is valued at £67.5m as per Transfermarkt.
Twitter Reactions:
Koulibaly has been linked with the club since the summer of 2016 but they have not been able to strike a deal with Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis, who barely negotiates with the transfer fee.
However, with Napoli struggling for form in the Serie A, there are murmurs that there is a revolt between the players and Koulibaly could be one of those permitted to leave as early as January.
