Spanish giants Real Madrid are understood to have identified Tammy Abraham as a potential back-up option to Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane to strengthen their centre-forward department.
The 13-time European champions landed the services of Luka Jovic over the summer from Eintracht Frankfurt but he has struggled for regular gametime with Karim Benzema in a good run of form.
Benzema has recently been rewarded for his efforts with another contract but Los Blancos are aware that they can’t rely on the 31-year-old on a long-term basis.
According to Don Balon, Los Blancos are keen on pursuing Kane from Spurs but they could be put off by the £180m valuation placed by the north London giants.
As such, it is claimed that they may look into an alternative signings and Abraham from Chelsea is supposedly among the names on the club’s transfer shortlist.
Abraham received plenty of criticism from some fans at the start of the season but he has settled quickly with a sublime tally of eight goals across all competitions.
He currently has more than three years remaining on his contract with the Blues and Los Blancos will no doubt have to come up with an offer of at least an £80m in order to test the resolve of the Europa League holders.
