Manchester United star confirms January exit plans

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has confirmed that he will push for an exit from the club in the New Year, should he continue to remain out of contention under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Argentina international has hardly earned gametime with the Red Devils over the past year and in the recent campaign, he made just six appearances in all competitions.

As such, he was touted to make the move to Everton before the Premier League transfer deadline but the deal was scuppered at the final hurdle under the intervention of Solskjaer.

In a report covered by M.E.N, Rojo confirmed that the Red Devils and Solskjaer together blocked his proposed transfer to the Toffees last month.

The former Sporting ace added that he is prepared to fight for his United career until December and will pursue a departure, should his situation not improve.

“I had the possibility of Everton, but by decisions of the club or the manager it wasn’t possible. Now I have to fight until December and if it doesn’t work out, I will try to leave.” he said.

Rojo, who can play in either central defence or left-back, did not make the matchday squad for any of the opening three Premier League matches before doing so at Southampton.

That was primarily down to the hamstring injury sustained by Luke Shaw. Ashley Young has been preferred to slot into the left-back spot in the absence of the England international.
