Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes final transfer decision on Christian Eriksen

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly decided against making a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen during this summer’s transfer window.

According to Standard Sport, the Red Devils had initially earmarked Eriksen as the prime target to strengthen the attacking midfield department this summer.

However, as the transfer window has progressed, it appears that United have changed their stance with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer more focused on keeping hold of Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman was the club’s leading performer last term with 16 goals and 11 assists, but he had nonetheless drawn criticism from the fans after the poor performances towards the final months of the season.

He has been associated with a move to Real Madrid this summer but Solskjaer seems intent on convincing him to stay through a private meeting during the club’s pre-season tour.

Meanwhile, Eriksen has 12 months remaining on his contract with Spurs and so far, he has shown no intention of penning a renewed deal with the north London giants.

Despite this, there have not been any transfer offers amid suggestions that club chairman Daniel Levy could demand nearly £100m for the sale of the Denmark international.
