Arsenal can land their second summer signing for £31m next week

Arsenal are reportedly in advanced negotiations with Real Madrid regarding the services of Lucas Vazquez and they could finalise a deal as early as next week.

According to AS, the north London side are hot on the trail of the Spain international, who has spent his entire career with the 13-time European champions.

The same publication claims that the Gunners are willing to pay an initial £31m for the wide attacker, although they may still have to reach a personal agreement with the player himself.

Vazquez is understood to prefer a Premier League move despite the interest from Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain, but it is still unclear whether the Gunners will be willing to match his wage demands.

Strengthening the wide attacking department has been made a priority under Unai Emery this summer and aside from Vazquez, the Gunners have been linked with a move for Wilfried Zaha.

The north London giants have already failed with an opening £40m bid for the Crystal Palace winger and reports indicate that they may now propose a player-plus-cash deal to push through a potential transfer.

Arsenal have landed just one recruit for the summer in the form of Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano.
