Chalobah and Mount start, Predicted Chelsea line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Crystal Palace

Chelsea entertain Crystal Palace in their Premier League curtain-raiser on Saturday.

The Blues ended the 2020/21 campaign superbly with Champions League glory.

They have since added another European silverware after beating Villarreal in the Super Cup on Wednesday.

Thomas Tuchel will be hoping that his team can make a winning start in front of a packed Stamford Bridge.

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Predicted Line-up:

Edouard Mendy stood in goal for 120 minutes in midweek before Kepa Arrizabalaga’s penalty heroics.

The Senegalese is still expected to start between the sticks.

Trevoh Chalobah was excellent on debut, and deserves to keep his place in the XI on merit.

He could be accompanied by Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in the back three.

Kurt Zouma could make way for Christensen amid the uncertainty over his future.

Reece James and Ben Chilwell have not played a single minute since pre-season.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Marcos Alonso could continue in the wing-back spots.

There will be an enforced changed in midfield with N’Golo Kante a serious injury doubt.

Jorginho looks set to partner Mateo Kovacic after his second-half appearance in midweek.

In the attack, a solitary change is expected with Hakim Ziyech out with a shoulder problem.

Christian Pulisic did not impress sufficiently against Villarreal.

Mason Mount could partner Kai Havertz with Timo Werner leading the line.

Romelu Lukaku is still under quarantine and won’t play any part in the derby.
