‘Unstoppable’, ‘World class’: some Manchester United fans are delighted with one player after comeback win at West Ham

A selection of Manchester United fans have expressed their delight over the performance of Bruno Fernandes following the club’s 3-1 comeback triumph over West Ham United on the road.

The Red Devils were outplayed for most parts of the opening half and they could have quite easily conceded more than one goal if it was not for the poor finishing from the hosts.

At the start of the second period, the Hammers continued to look lively, but the game changed after hour mark when Paul Pogba scored a terrific long-range goal which seems controversial as the ball may have gone over the line in the lead-up.

United dominated the proceedings thereafter with Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford helping them seal a comfortable 3-1 triumph at the end. Greenwood’s second goal and Juan Mata’s splendid defence cutting pass for Rashford also caught the eye, but Fernandes also earned plenty of praise.

Fernandes was given a rare break as he started off the bench, but he was called up at the interval. He made the difference from the attacking midfield as he created as many as eight chances, including the assist for Pogba’s strike.

The Portuguese has been in splendid form for the Red Devils this term and he has bagged 11 goals and five assists from just 16 appearances in all competitions. He will have a key role to play in midweek where United need at least a point against RB Leipzig to avoid a shock group stage exit in the Champions League.
