‘Sell him’, ‘Enough is enough’: Some Arsenal fans slam 25-year-old’s performance vs Tottenham Hotspur

A selection of Arsenal fans have criticised the performance of Hector Bellerin during the 2-0 derby defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening.

The Gunners went winless for the fourth straight game in the Premier League and they now find themselves languishing in the 15th spot, 11 points behind their arch-rivals Spurs, who are top of the table.

A stellar long-strike from Heung-min Son and a Harry Kane goal before the interval sealed the three points for Spurs and the Gunners could not reply despite commanding more than two-thirds of the possession.

Bellerin, 25, was partly at fault for both of the goals where he could have done better in closing down and intercepting the ball and some Arsenal fans were far from impressed with his display.

Bellerin started the season in fine fashion and grabbed three assists in the Premier League. He has created some more chances in the final third which have not been capitalised.

However, on the defensive point of view, there has been an evident weakness with his decision-making when the opposition is on the counter-attack and he was outsmarted once more in the derby.

It will be interesting to see whether he keeps his place for the home game against Burnley this weekend. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Cedric Soares are the options at the disposal of Arteta, should he consider a replacement.
