Frank Lampard provides fresh injury update on Christian Pulisic after Everton defeat

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed that Christian Pulisic had to be left out of the matchday squad to face Everton as he was uncomfortable in training.

The USA international was struggling with a minor hamstring concern after the Leeds United game, but Lampard insisted earlier this week it was not an issue and the forward would return to face the Toffees.

However, he was completely absent from the 18-man squad at Goodison Park and Lampard has now revealed that Pulisic has yet to overcome the muscular problem.

“He had to be left out. He was uncomfortable in training this week and yesterday. We did miss our three wingers who are injured. It comes back to the same story, there are muscle injuries all over the Premier League,” He told.

The Blues suffered a 1-0 defeat against the Toffees last night and that ended their nine-match unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, their away woes at Goodison Park also continued. They have now picked up just one point from the previous four visits.

Chelsea are scheduled to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on the road on Tuesday night and it could be another tricky challenge.

The west London giants are currently third on the table with 22 points, but they could drop out of the top four by the end of today.
